Featured in RBSO Classical Concert No. 3

Under the Royal Patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya, the Royal Bangkok Symphony Orchestra Foundation and Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) are delighted to present RBSO Classical Concert No. 3  “Beauty of the Baroque” of the 2020 season. On Saturday, September 12, 2020 at 7:30PM at Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel, Ballroom, two accomplished violinists will be featured, Bing Han from China and Chot Buasuwan from Thailand, and the RBSO will present a program of beautiful Baroque music.

The program features three pieces by Baroque era composers. The first, Johann Sebastian Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto No. 3 was written in 1721 as part of a series of six compositions. The Brandenburg concertos are widely thought to be some of the best orchestral compositions of the Baroque era. Concerto No. 3 is a favorite of audiences around the world.

Second, Concerto for Two Violins in D minor, BWV 1043 also by composed by Bach around 1730, is one of his most notable works and is an excellent example a late Baroque piece. This piece highlights the two guest violinists and the expressive relationship between the two.

Third is The Four Seasons by Italian composer Antonio Vivaldi. Written in the early 1700’s, this four-part composition gives musical expression to the four seasons. This is the best known of Vivaldi’s work and was a revolution in musical conception; Vivaldi represented flowing creeks, singing birds, a shepherd and his barking dog, buzzing flies, storms, drunken dancers, hunting parties from both the hunters’ and the prey’s point of view, frozen landscapes, and warm winter fires.

The performance is open to the public. Tickets are available via ThaiTicketMajor, with discounts available for students and seniors.

We hope you will be able to join us Saturday, September 12 at 7:30PM for this evening of baroque music at Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel.
