Chaiwat Booramanat

With four decades of professional activity, Chaiwat Booramanat received his Bachelor’s degree from the Royal Thai Navy School of Music in 1975, majoring in viola. He studied with the famous Thai pedagogue Rear Admiral Veeraphan Vawklang, Lt. Thavil Chayapiwat, and Petty Officer First Class Ekpornchai Yaimeesakdi. A scholarship from Mater Dei School Alumni was awarded to Chaiwat to attend the celebrated Mozarteum in Salzburg for one year, following on from a music camp in Bangkok directed by famous soloists from the Menuhin Academy of Music in Switzerland, including Alberto Lysy. Chaiwat was appointed immediately as a full-time violist with the Royal Thai Navy Orchestra. He quickly established himself as one of Bangkok’s best known and respected musicians, and was invited to join the Royal Bangkok Symphony Orchestra as a founding member for its historic debut concerts in 1982. Having been continuously involved with the orchestra since then, he served as a celebrated section Principal for more than twenty years.

Arkom Kitinoppakun

A highly experienced violinist and viola player, with 21 years of professional experience, Arkom is firmly established in the Thai classical music scene as a musician of exceptional integrity, versatility, and ability. A lifelong member of the Royal Bangkok Symphony Orchestra, he has also performed extensively with Chulalongkorn Symphony Orchestra, ASEAN Youth Orchestra, Mai Thai Orchestra, Royal Thai Navy Symphony Orchestra, Siam Philharmonic Orchestra, and World Philharmonic Orchestra Bangkok. He achieved his qualification of Bachelor of Western Music at Chulalongkorn University and the Royal Thai Navy School of Music, and studied the Violin Methodology Course with Mr. Qui Van Woerdekom. He also attended the prestigious Orchestra Training Program with Yomiuri Symphony Orchestra in Japan at the MEFA International Academy of Music. Arkom has taught at Royal Bangkok Symphony Music School, Rugby School Thailand, Harrow International School, MEFA International Academy of Music, and Dr. Sax Music School. Also an accomplished composer/arranger/conductor, he regularly directs the Royal Bangkok Symphony School training orchestra in a variety of venues.
