Description

The only sound the whole world is silent to hear

A legend in the world of opera, more than just an artist, Plácido Domingo

For the first and only time in history, Thailand will welcome Plácido Domingo, the legendary opera artist and winner of 12 Grammy Awards, who is considered one of the greatest tenors of his generation. He has performed over 150 opera roles, the most in history, and has performed on stage over 4,000 times in leading opera houses around the world.

He is the reigning artist of the Metropolitan Opera in New York, where he has had the honor of opening 21 seasons, more than any other singer in the institution's history.

Domingo is also one of the legendary trio of The Three Tenors, along with Luciano Pavarotti and José Carreras, who created a global phenomenon with their first concert together before the 1990 World Cup Final in Rome, which was watched by over 800 million people live and became the best-selling classical music album of all time, marking a turning point in opera's global reach as an art form.

The historic performance was conducted by legendary conductor Zubin Mehta, who has performed at the festival before, as did José Carreras, who gave his farewell performance in Thailand in 2019.

And this year, for the first time, Plácido Domingo, the last of the four living opera legends, will perform on the Thai stage, alongside rising soprano Monica Conesa from the US, who made history as the youngest Aida to perform at the prestigious Arena di Verona, and conductor Beatrice Venezi from Italy, one of the few women to break onto the world stage, having worked with artists like Andrea Bocelli and Carla Fracci and been named by Forbes as one of Italy's most powerful women.

A one-night performance that will become a historic moment in Thai classical music.

One of the world's greatest voices is about to resonate in Thailand.
